The Rab Microlight Alpine Down Jacket is renowned for its incredibly versatile design, providing lightweight and packable warmth for year-round use in the mountains.

“Windswept trails. Chilly belays. Summit snack breaks. A boost of post-run warmth. Whatever your day in the mountains looks like, the Microlight is up to the task. Lightweight and low-bulk, it’s easy to layer and built to accompany you year-round.” – Rab.

This new generation features Pertex Quantum with NetPlus fabric, offering the same dependable performance, now made with fully traceable NetPlus material.

NetPlus is made using post-consumer recycled fishing nets. Our partner Bureo works directly with fishing communities to collect discarded fishing net waste, through an incentivised recycling program.

Using an advanced depolymerisation process, the waste fishing nets are broken down and reformed into NetPlus pellets. This material is then spun into ultra fine yarns before being precisely woven to create high performance Pertex fabrics.

By replacing virgin nylon with post-consumer recycled NetPlus, we are preventing harmful waste from entering the environment and reducing the need to extract fossil fuels.

Pertex NetPlus fabrics meet the same rigorous testing standards as other Pertex fabrics, ensuring that there is no compromise on durability or performance.

The hydrophobic down fill, combined with water repellent Pertex Quantum fabric, helps resist moisture in damp environments. This keeps insulation performing at its best, ensuring consistent warmth when temperatures drop and condensation can build through activity or in the weather.

Rab has a long-standing reputation for developing dependable, technically focused products for use in the mountains. The updated Microlight Alpine Down Jacket reflects that approach, combining a refined design with new fully traceable material benefits.
